Welcome to the website of Asia Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine!

It heartening indeed to see the growth of Critical Care Medicine as a superspecility in the ASIA-PACIFIC region. There has been a gross disparity in the availability of resources, trained human capital and access to advanced health care including critical care, depending on the areas of Asia and Pacific regions that you travel to. The model of health care also differs from country to country being complete national health schemes to total payment being made by the patients out of their own packet.

All these problems are compounded by the lack of advanced technology in many countries and also, more importantly lack of training facilities and experienced teachers. Some countries have long pedigree of training and teaching, some have rudimentary facilities and others are in between.

Asia Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine started with the aim of correcting this imbalance of availability of trained manpower, creating awareness about the specialty and imparting and spreding knowledge about critical care medicine.

The website aims at correcting some of the deficiencies. It will allow members to interact, have a common platform to spread news about the teaching events such as seminars and CMEs taking palce in the region and eventually have our own electronic journal. Hopefully we will succed in all our aims.
